Shipping & Returns

Because every piece is unique to a place, a date and an evening, we do not hold stock. Once your order is confirmed, the print file is rendered at full resolution and sent to the nearest Gelato production hub. The canvas is printed, stretched over a solid wood frame, quality-checked and dispatched with a tracked courier.

Standard production takes 2–4 business days from order confirmation to hand-off to the carrier. During peak periods (Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, mid-November to mid-December) production may extend to 5 business days.

Typical order-to-door times, production included — the same estimates you see at checkout:

• Spain: 2–4 business days
• European Union: 3–6 business days
• United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland: 4–8 business days
• United States & Canada: 4–9 business days
• Australia & New Zealand: 5–10 business days
• Rest of world: 6–13 business days

These are standard service estimates and are not guaranteed. Customs delays outside the EU are outside our control.

Shipping is calculated from the format and the delivery country, and is shown before you pay. Canvases travel tracked and insured; postcards are posted flat in a rigid envelope as standard mail.

• One shipping charge per order; the rate shown at checkout is final.
• All prices include VAT for EU destinations. Non-EU buyers are responsible for local import duties and taxes.

Canvases ship with a tracked courier: you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking link as soon as the courier collects your order. If you have not received tracking within 5 business days of ordering, email us at hello@theskythatevening.com.

Postcards are posted flat in a rigid envelope as standard mail, which has no tracking link — you will still receive an order confirmation and a dispatch email.

Every canvas is inspected before it leaves the hub, but transit can be rough. If your canvas arrives damaged, defective or with a printing error, contact us within 14 days of delivery with a photo of the item and the outer packaging. We will re-produce and re-ship a replacement free of charge — no need to return the damaged piece.

Under Article 103(c) of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 (Consumer Protection Act), transposing Article 16(c) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), the standard 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to goods that are made to the consumer's specifications or are clearly personalised.

Every canvas we make is rendered from your unique coordinates, date and size — it cannot be resold. By placing an order you acknowledge this and waive the 14-day cooling-off period for the personalised element of your purchase. This does not affect your statutory three-year guarantee of conformity under Articles 114–127 of Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007.

Because production starts almost immediately, we can only change or cancel an order if it has not yet been sent to production. Contact us as fast as possible at hello@theskythatevening.com — we do our best, but once the hub has started printing we cannot pull it back.

If a tracked parcel has not moved for 10 business days (or 20 for non-EU destinations), we treat it as lost, open a claim with the carrier and reprint your canvas at no cost.
